We are,  but unfortunately there is no fix for that yet on the touch based fifth edition. While we are hoping the Symbian team will bring the on-screen clock in the standby screen to our Tube 5800s soon, our friends at Offscreen Technologies have come up with an application that features a full screen analogue clock for s60 fifth edition devices.

Yeah, we know a flash based application is no real substitute to an on-screen clock in the stand-by mode but this is probably as close we can get to a full screen clock on our Tube 5800s. Lets see what other features this app has to offer for our 5800s.

Watch v1.0 is yet another free app from Offscreen Technologies, of whom we have been covering quiet a lot, ever since Ovi store went live early this May. The familiar interface makes another appearance in Watch v1.0, with an additional button for controlling the back-lit function thrown-in. The app is pretty basic and does a good job of displaying time in the analogue clock mode, with no added features whatsoever.

What We Like?

  1. Fullscreen Analogue Clock is a delight esp for those with poor vision

What We Hate?

  1. Lackluster feature-set
  2. No customisation options

Verdict

While we have been big fans of Offscreen Technologies, we have to confess that watch is one of their most forgettable apps with no real functions to talk about. The app doesn’t bring any new features and even the analogue clock is pretty basic, missing standard watch features like: am/pm display, date and day display, alarm etc. We don’t see any compelling reason for downloading this app and unless you have a thing for analogue watches, you are better off without this app.
