TuneWiki for Nokia 5530 review
Has it happened to you anytime that you are listening to some song on your Nokia 5530 and you happen to miss out a few lines of the lyrics? Have you wished then that it would’ve been good if you got the lyrics with the song? Feeling déjà vu? Yes, this happens to many people. And TuneWiki for Nokia 5530 is here to solve your problems.
This app for 5530, TuneWiki, is a media player for your S60 devices which plays audio files on your phones and gets the lyrics for the current song from its online database and syncs it to the song. Isn’t this great? It seriously works fine.
As soon as you launch the app, you are provided with the usual Artists, Albums, etc., playlists created from the songs on your phone. You can get into anyone of these playlists and start playing any of your favourite songs.
As the song starts to play, the app searches its online database using the data service of your phone and gets the lyrics for the current song. It then syncs it. The syncing is done only if the lyrics are synced on the server. If the lyric is present but is not yet synced with the song, the app provides you with a button in the lyric area of the screen so that you can sync it for the first time which gets saved on the server for that particular song. So the next time anybody searches for the lyric of that song on TuneWiki’s server, they don’t need to sync it again.
Once you get the lyric of a song, its stored on your phone so that the next time you play the same song, it doesn’t have to search its database and just get it from your phone’s memory, quick and easy. TuneWiki also provides internet radio services like SHOUTcast Radio. You have an account, you can use it. As simple as that.
It doesn’t end here. You liked a song and wonder how the video of the song be. Stop wondering and tap on the video tab of the app. You can search YouTube for videos. Not just that, while your audio is playing, tap on the video tab in the bottom of the screen and it automatically searches for the video of the current track and displays the results.
I don’t need to tell you what to do after this, you just select the video which you want and it starts streaming. A great app, simple and light.
I dint want to actually write about this, but when I was taking the screenshots of TuneWiki for this post, it stopped responding and I had to exit the app in the unusual way, which means, the app crashed. This has happened only once to me. So when I launched the app soon after that, it asked me whether I wanted to send the crash report to the server.
Let the guys at TuneWiki figure out why it shut-down unexpectedly, till then, you guys download the app from the Ovi Store and try it out.
