SPB Mobile Shell for your Nokia 5530 – Part 1

All Windows Mobile users will know what SPB Mobile Shell is. Its basically an app which sits on the OS of your phone and customizes the whole user interface is a much enhanced, user friendly and good looking way. Its also the highest selling shell for mobile phones. Very recently, they launched the Mobile Shell for Symbian OS as well. The official page is right here. But this great little app isn’t free. You can buy it for $29.95. You can download the 15 days trial version to try it out first and then buy it if you like it.

The SPB Mobile Shell for Symbian replaces your default home screen with a much brilliant looking home screens. Yes, you get mutliple home screens, either three or five, you can select which one you want. There are two styles of home screens, Lifestyle and Professional. You can have any one style selected at one time or select both, but only one can be displayed at a time.

You can customize the whole layout of the screen, add widgets, move them over to other screens, delete them, etc. The Launcher and Contacts buttons on the bottom of the screen can’t be removed or changed. The menu of your phone is also changed and the programs, settings, etc. are arranged automatically by the Mobile Shell.

You cannot change the layout of the menu, but you have two menus, one is the complete menu and the other gives you a list of recently opened apps. You can switch between these menus either by swiping your finger sideways in any direction on the screen or using the button on the bottom of the screen. The settings menu is also changed and gives you different options to view and change the settings of both the phone and the Mobile Shell.
