Reviews: What the World Has to Say About Nokia 5800?
We looked all around the web today to check what people are saying about Nokia 5800, how they are reviewing it, what their user experience is and if they are overall happy with their phone.
We checked the leading tech blogs, experts’ reviews, phone users forums/ communities, etc. and brought together for you what the world has to say about Nokia 5800 now after its release. Check out what are the experts’ comments as well as general users experience with Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.
Techradar.com rates Nokia 5800 as 4.5/5.0 on looks, ease of use, features, call quality and value but they felt the lack of multi-touch on device and the quality of earpiece as well as photo shoot was not impressive for them.
Mobilegazette.com concludes Nokia 5800 as- “The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is a pretty good phone, it’s easy to use, comes with a capable web browser and excellent multimedia support and is frankly a lot of fun. The loudspeaker could be better, the camera isn’t as good as we would have hoped and you will be forever cleaning fingerprints off it.”
Experts at Thelink.co.uk found the phone quite interesting and well worth to wait for so long and they rated the phone 4 out of 5. They also wrote down a long comprehensive list of specs/features covering each and every basic to major feature the phone has.
Testfreaks has an interesting collection of Nokia 5800 reviews, collected from 111 sources in 20 countries. The average rating for Nokia 5800 comes to 9.2/10.0 which is awesome, while Iphone has a score of 8.7 there. Nokia 5800 emerged as the 4th most popular handset of Nokia and 5th most popular overall, across all brands.
Whatmobile says about Nokia 5800, “We’ve been waiting patiently for Nokia’s first touchscreen Series 60 smartphone, but it seems Nokia has had difficulty changing things to operate by fingertip operation instead of real buttons; it can be a little fiddly to input text. The larger screen resolution isn’t fully utilised by every application either, although the media player and web browser are obvious beneficiaries. The 5800 is very well featured, from a good camera to excellent video recording, plus content sharing options. It’s a cheap alternative to the iPhone, especially with the optional Comes With Music service for unlimited music downloads.” Rating 4/5.
T3 reviews it as, “A sterling effort from our Finnish friends and we cant wait for the N-series behemoth to be announced.” Rating 4 stars out of 5.
We feel the 5800 tube will continue to get more great feedbacks from the users and experts. However we expect from Nokia to pay more attention to the users criticisms/advices and avoid things like what we just saw in the recent US launch of the phone which we marked as ‘the poor launch of a great phone’.
Nokia should continue improving the device with updates like the recent enhancements they did on Nokia 5800 after users feedback. In last firmware udpates they made the touch experience more sensitive, improved the smoothness, activated the front camera as well for taking photos, application updates, geo-tagging, video/flash improvements, etc. Keep it up Nokia!!

Nokia 5800 Xpress music is Symbian S40 edition device and good to know that Fring is working on it. Hope this will resolve the SIP devices error, which i have experienced on Nokia e71 while keeping Fring and Vopium at the same time.
Apologies Nokia 5800 is S60 edition device
