Resistors on you Nokia 5530
We all are well aware of Offscreen Technologies Ltd. They have given a lot of light but very useful and sometimes fun apps. Another app, very useful for electronics engineers like myself and anyone else who has to do something with resistors, is called Resistors.
If you are one using resistors for one or the other thing in your life, you are very much sure to know about a resistors colour codes. For those who don’t know, there will be four colour bands on every resistor. The combination of these colour bands determine the resistor values with tolerance.
So what this app does is, it gives you a virtual resistor on your screen and the four colour bands. You can change these colour bands individual to your required combination and know how much resistance a resistor offers with that colour combination. The value is displayed on the top portion of the screen.
You can even change the tolerance values and see how the values change. It is a very simple app, very light weight on the phone, but at the same time, very useful and comes in handy many times. I’ve started using this app extensively for all my electronic works.
