Nokia Fever

So lets take a look at one such app, the name of which is very popular for its efficiency in the field of security, Kaspersky Mobile Security.

First thing first, this is not at all a free app, free to try though. You can use it free of cost for 30 days and then, if you like the app, you can go ahead and buy it for $29.95 per phone per year. To download the trial version of the app on your smartphone, go to Kaspersky.com from your phone’s browser.

After you get this app installed on your smartphone, the first you run it, you are asked for a security code. From the second time you run it, only on entering the correct code you are allowed to use the app.

After you enter the correct code, the next screen gives you the status of the protection and also info about your license. As you can see from the following screen snap, I used a trial version of this and there are 25 days remaining of 30.

The next screen takes you to the Anti Virus part of the app. This screen gives the status, options to scan your phone or update the database, view the quarantine or the log or the help. The working is pretty simple.

The scan menu gives you various options like a full scan, folder scan, memory scan or message scan.

Privacy Protection

This means that you can make a contact invisible whenever you want n visible again later. Magic?? You can do it too. You are just supposed to add all the contacts from your contacts menu in the Contact list and when the mode is changed from Normal to Private, all the traces of the selected contacts will be removed from your phone’s contacts list, SMS folders and call logs. Pretty easy to use and very useful. This way, you can hide all the contacts when you are giving your phone to somebody and you don’t want them to see those contacts. You can change the modes either manually when you want or schedule it.

Anti-Theft

This is a very useful feature and I suggest all the phone lifters to check whether this app is installed on the phone that you are planning to steal. This feature allows you to control the working of your phone remotely when its stolen. You can just send an SMS to your phone in a predefined format and it’ll be locked until you provide the code again and unlock it. You can even erase the whole data on your phone by sending another SMS in another predefined format with the appropriate password. If the thief changes the SIM card in your phone, which is very common to happen, the SIM Watch feature sends an SMS to a predefined no. giving the details of the new SIM. Then you can use the GPS find feature to locate your phone using Google Maps.

Encryption

If you want to protect the contents of a folder on your phone, put that folder in the protection list and its password protected. Nobody can access it from even a computer without providing the correct passwords. So you can be sure of securing your data.

Anti-Spam

Are you going wild with those unwanted calls and msgs from unknown nos or ads from your service providers? Then simply add those nos to the blacklist and make the phone work with the white list. Now you can relax as this app will block calls and msgs from those nos in the blacklist and allow only from nos in the white list.

Parental Control

If you install this on your kid’s phone, you can block outgoing calls or msgs to undesirable nos like those premium no. This can save you some money and you kid from bad habits, hopefully. And also, you can keep a look on your kid’s whereabouts using the GPS Find feature. It gives you the exact location of your kid.

Firewall

This software is no less than the desktop version of its own. This gives you a powerful firewall for your phone preventing malwares and other harmful activities from happening on your phone. You can be totally laid back and relaxed once you have installed this on your smartphone.
