Opera Releases Opera Mini 5 Beta- Adds Tabbed Browsing
Opera, best known for their browsers for both desktop and mobile platforms have just released the beta version of their latest mobile browser- Opera Mini 5. As with every new application on our platform, we gave it a spin and boy, we just love it. Its simply awesome.
While its predecessor- Opera Mini 4 was in itself a revolutionary browser on the mobile platform, Opera just couldn’t cope up with the periodic updates, the symbian browser received via every firmware update. While the symbian browser got faster and got its bugs fixed, the opera mini 4 was left untouched by its developers. Just when we thought the days of Opera on our 5800s are numbered, the folks at Opera are back with an absolute delight with their beta version of the Opera Mini 5. Its not even the full version and we just can’t have enough of it. Roll over and see what makes us say that about this awesome browser from Opera.
Screenshots-

The first thing that will catch you eye is the slick new interface of the browser which now has the looks and functionality of Opera browser on our desktops. What Opera calls the speed dial is the thumbnail links to the most commonly accessed webpages from the browser, a concept first implemented by Opera which was later adopted by Google in their browser-Chrome.
We all know how painful and un-intuitive it is to type an address or compose a mail on our 5800s using the symbian keyboards for it hides the application we are using. Now thanks to our friends at Opera, 5800 now has the “iPhone”ish keypad for that added convenience of being able to see the browser as we type. This automatically translates into being able to select options from the predictive text as highlighted in the second screenshot above.
Features:
- Innovative and Easy-to-use
- Tabs
- Password Manager
- Full web in your palm
- Touch & Keypad
- Speed Dial
- Built for Speed
- Find things faster
- Power Scrolling
We are so used to tabbed browsing these days that its hard to imagine browsing the web in their absence. We have been waiting since long to see this feature on our 5800s and thanks to Opera, we now a have this feature on our 5800s. We can go on and on in praise of the latest browser from Opera but we would like our readers to test drive the browser by themselves. Do get back to us and share your browsing experience on Opera Mini 5 beta.
