Nokia Friend View Gets an Update for Nokia5800
Nokia Friend View is a location and micro-blogging service that helps you keep up with your close friends. The application is now updated to support Symbian S60 5th edition devices like the 5800 and N97.
It allows you to share your location (automatically using GPS or network-based location or manually) with your friends and see where they are, or at least where they were when they last posted a status update/post. It also let’s you share with your fiends where you are and what you are doing/ thinking right now (micro-blogging like Twitter).
The app has been recently updated to include friend alerts in the mix. Now it can run in the background in “Normal” or “Active” modes and a “pling-plung” from Friend View will tell you that your friend is close by so you can meet. Of course, you can tweak setting to adjust the Friend alerts’ meeting zone and define how close your friends should be to get alerted.
You can download Friend View for your Nokia 5800 and use it on the go! Let your friends know where you are and what you’re up to, and find out what’s up any time.
When you use Friend View on your phone, it keeps a data connection open all the time, so we recommend that you only use it if you have a ‘flat rate’ data plan.
