Here’s the latest installment to our Halloween countdown. Download these FREE digital comics from the folks of Carnival Comics. This is a four chapter digital comic entitled “FUNHOUSE OF HORRORS” for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone.
What is Funhouse of Horrors?
Funhouse of Horrors is a four chapter digital comic written by Jazan Wild that brings a chilling horror story to your Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone. Chapter one tells the story of Jacob Stone who found himself in an old abandoned house. Ironically, it was just a week before Halloween. The wretched dwelling is being prepared as a one-night only Haunted House! A strange worker sees Jacob and gives him a book that changes his life! Enter the Funhouse Of Horrors!
In chapter two, Jacob is back and the strange book given to him has made his life a living hell. In chapter three, unwanted spirits haunts Jacob. How will he be able to escape the inescapable? In the final chapter (chapter 4), Jacob returns to the House of Horrors on Halloween Night. What will happen now? How will the honor stop?
Page navigation is done by swipping the screen. To turn to the next page, just swipe the screen to the left as if you are turning the page. The screen will scroll from left to right with a new page coming in. If you want to go to the previous page you just read, just swipe the screen to the right.
My take on Funhouse of Horrors
Funhouse of Horrors is beautifully written and drawn. The pace and the emotions of fear and fright were present in the virtual pages of the digital comic. I love the way the colors pop out from the Nokia 5800 display.
The chapters are downloaded separately, which is good. This makes the application light on the bandwidth charges.
I appreciate now that this new digital comic book has a way to exit it anytime. Just tap on the screen and two options will appear. You can choose “Back” to return to the comic or select “Options” then “Exit.”
Unfortunately, we still have a problem again. It would have been best if we can jump from one page to another instead of swiping the screen until we get to our desired page. This would be a welcomed feature, which I hope can be added soon.

My Verdict on Funhouse of Horrors
Get this application. It is not just a great read but the colors nicely translate on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Phone’s screen. Besides, it’s FREE and it is worth it. Scare yourself silly this Halloween.
