Nokia 5800 launching in North American flavor this month for $399?

Unlocked European 5800s are still occasionally trickling into Nokia’s Chicago and New York flagship stores, but you might want to hold off on taking the plunge if you spend more than a few passing minutes in the New World each month. The Nokia Blog is reporting that the remixed North American version of Nokia’s first S60 5th Edition device will drop somewhere around February 26 for an MSRP of 9 — though retailers can naturally charge less if they’re feeling generous. Interestingly, we checked in with the stores last week about this very phone and were quoted “sometime in the second quarter” for launch — but then again, we wouldn’t put it past a site called The Nokia Blog be a little more attuned to the situation, if you know what we’re saying.
