New Contest: iXp or Win7? We Let You Decide

After the overwhelming response we got to our last contest, we are back with yet another Tube5800 contest for followers of our blog.

While Microsoft is giving away a free license of Windows 7 for throwing in a launch party, we decided we will pitch in with a Microsoft themed party or rather contest of our own. We are giving away 10 licenses of iXP/Win 7 for winners of our latest Tube5800 contest. More details of the contest, after the break.

iXp

In case you didn’t know, iXP is windows Xp emulator for symbian fifth edition devices like our very own 5800 and the N97 to name a few. The flash based application does an excellent job of mimicking the familiar Windows Xp interface on our high resolution 5800 screens.

While the emulator may not be as exhaustive as the MyPhone, it does cover the basic phone features within the interface. Since Xp was never designed for a mobile device, we cannot expect much from this Xp interface ported on to a touchscreen mobile platform. This is one app, fans of Windows XP (who are plenty in number given the unpopularity of Vista) will love to have on their 5800s. Check our review of this emulator to get to know more about this app.

Win 7

As the world awaits with bated breath to get their hands on the latest OS from Redmond based Microsoft, thanks to our friends at MMMOOO, we 5800ers can now get the feel of Windows 7 on our beloved 5800s.

The flash based app brings most of the visualisations of Windows 7 to our 5800 screen. The emulator which works only in landscape mode is no match to MyPhone but fans of Windows 7 will definitely not want to miss this app on their 5800. After the encouraging feedback we got from our readership survey of our previous contest, we are shifting back to the rules of our previous contests; meaning all you gotta do is hit on the comment button and leave a comment to get a go at this contest.

Terms and Conditions

1) Contest starts right now and will end on Sep 11th, 05:00 p.m GMT.
2) One person- one entry - all IPs and cookies are logged, don’t try to cheat the system.
3) 10 winners will be chosen by a name shuffler tool.
4) Winners will be notified by email and results will be declared here too.
5) Winners will be asked which application they want to have as their prize and an activation key will be sent to them.
