Experimental Multi-touch to the Nokia 5800
Dis you ever felt that your Nokia 5800 should have been multitouch enabled? Jamie Fuller, a hobbyist somehow magically turned that into a reality and proves in the video below how well multi touch application can be run on Nokia 5800.
Considering that neither the hardware nor the software technically support multitouch here, it’s a hell of a feat. Jamie has put together the technology on his Nokia 5800 using some clever programming. This came about while he was trying to write a simple Guitar Hero clone for the phone, but realised he needed multitouch to hit simultaneous notes.
For now, though, things on the multi-touch front are still strictly in the testing stage. Jamie hopes to get his multi-touch capable S60 application out to the public in due time, but needs some help putting the finishing touches to the app first.
We hope he does not make any infringements on Apple’s multitouch patent. Anyways here is the video demo:
