Courier not allow IM? Need a new IM app? Look in.
Hello all for another review on another great app. Today I’m going to talk about the eBuddy app for Symbian.
Yes yes, there are others such as Nimbuzz and Fring that offer much more functionality such as voice calling and video calling over Skype etc but unfortunately I can’t use these without Wifi – Yes that’s right, I’m with T-Mobile UK which unfortunately block the ports that these apps need.
The only two IM apps I can use are eBuddy and Palringo which are both great but I find that eBuddy just beats Palringo. Both these apps are free from their respective websites so get on down there and check them out, it can’t do any harm

With eBuddy you’ll need an eBuddy ID, it’s easy to register, and this ID will hold all the information for all your IM Services. eBuddy allows you to chat through MSN, Facebook, ICQ, AIM, GTalk etc. You can add as many accounts as you require.
A nice feature that I like is “Recent chats” which will tell you all the contacts you often speak to through your IM services. This is a great help when trying to find a certain contact, it’s a bit like a favourites system. You can set your display name, display picture, personal message and you can also have notification sounds/vibration alerts for incoming messages which is great if you plan to leave the app running in the background.
You can do all the usual things such as Nudge and send emoticons to your contacts through the MSN protocol. Another great thing is that there are no in-chat advertisements which are evident in some other Instant Messaging apps out there.
If you would like a review on a certain application, be it free or premium software, then just leave me a comment and I’ll see if I can sort something out.
Thanks for reading and like always, check it out you can’t go wrong for free! Also, remember that if you’re with someone like T-Mobile that block certain required ports for other IM apps then eBuddy or Palringo are perfect!
